A Welcoming Space

Hello! My name is Martha.

Ever look around your home or work space and wonder, “How did this get to this?!”

We know the culprits: long workdays, maxed-out schedules, little hands with never-ending creativity, beloved pets who deserve our attention - or simply the fact that we’d rather be doing something else.

You’re not alone.

While some people dream about escaping to a dream destination, I love creating home spaces that feel like an ideal getaway: serene, inviting, orderly, and functional.

Visualizing an efficient, calming space - and then making it happen - is what I do!

Over time, I’ve learned that the best organizational systems are the ones that work with real life, not against it. Your home shouldn’t have to look like a perfectly staged stock photo to be organized. A good system supports the way you live, work, and move through your day.

Does any of this sound familiar?

“I’m overwhelmed with work, and I don’t see an end to this.”

“I’m tired of this. I’m done! I just want to start over.”

“I miss them. I can’t bring myself to go through their belongings. I need help.”

Some things require help from your village. I’d love to be a part of yours!

Turning your thoughts into a plan

I tackle the daunting tasks of organizing, decluttering, and resetting homes and work spaces.

Here is what I bring to every project:

  • I create breathing room in your environments - at home or work spaces.

  • I love turning ideas into action and asking, “How can I help?”

  • My favorite success stories begin with: “Wouldn’t it be great if…?”

Whether you landed here through a warm referral from someone you trust or as a curious peek at my website, welcome!

If you’ve been looking around your space thinking, “I wish I had time/energy/someone to tackle this for me”, let’s turn that thought into a plan.

Now imagine how you’ll feel once it’s done.

I look forward to learning more about you, your space, and your organization & decluttering goals - and discovering how I can make your aspiration a reality.

The experience and heart behind creating calmer spaces.

While I have always had a desire to be of service to others, my entry into the service field was ignited while studying abroad during my junior year at Austin College. It was there that I realized that my brain had erased all traces of the beautiful language that had first introduced me to the love and support I knew growing up. It was also there that I understood a lesson my father had tried to relay to me years before: “If you are going to serve others, start in your own community.”

For several decades I’ve had the privilege of being welcomed into the lives and homes of the most beautiful and generous families who were facing crushing life circumstances - from lack resources or education, homelessness, to devastating health conditions. This journey fostered my perspective that it is not how much we acquire, rather the value that we place on the things that surround us. That value can either steal or elicit our peace, gratitude, and even joy.

Grounded by the experience of watching good families face uncertainty, I committed to treating our abode as a place to foster calm and clarity. Over the years, visitors’ comments about the calm and organization they feel in our home has warmed my heart. In turn, I have been privileged to create organization in other’s spaces when their life chapters have left them mentally flurried. Service is my love language, so supporting others in creating their home into their own refuge is a win-win.

This year I had a flash of insight after back-to-back experiences with helping different households navigate the weight that had accumulated in their homes after living through difficult chapters - a divorce, a busy professional with brutal work travel demands, the death of a loved one. Each person asked for help using different language. I just happened to recognize the ask and the strength it took for them to say it. It was, in fact, joining others as they navigated through their journeys that led me to embark on this exciting path.

I invite you to explore my website and consider how I may be of service for you. If you’d like to know more about how I work and my approach, I’ve answered a few questions I would personally want to know when choosing a professional home organizer. My hope is that you’ll feel welcomed, understood, and at ease as you explore whether we might be a good fit.

Things you may be wondering:

  • Will you judge me? Simply, “No!”, though I understand how opening the door to your sanctuary is an act of trust. I view my services with excitement for the possibilities in helping each client achieve their goal of a calming, functional space.

  • What’s your approach? Our spaces reflect what we value. My heart completely fills with gratitude when visitors comment how calming and peaceful they feel in our home. We balance harmony and function due to bustling schedules! I see the beauty in starting with the older, true & trusted items we own to organize and create efficiencies in our spaces. I typically use what is present rather than defaulting to new purchases (containers, baskets, etc.), unless necessary. So, I start from that perspective with the households I serve.

My commitment to you is that we will not push the purchase of more containers simply to achieve “the look”.

  • What will it feel like to work with you? My task is to help you regain your space so that you can focus on what is meaningful to you. A home consultation helps me to understand what’s weighing on you, identify where you need the most support, and create a plan that fits your household and your schedule. Framing the part you want to play throughout the task - engagement, check-ins, etc. - is an integral part of the in-home consultation.

  • Are you experienced and trustworthy? My personal reputation and testimonials are what gave me wings to brand and promote my services.

With gratitude for your visit,

-Martha
